General information Student Scientific Society joins together students participating in scientific activities since 26th November 1947. The organization is represented by a board of members and directed by chairman. Student Scientific Society is an independent organization, which defends interests of its member by presenting proposals to the Rectorate of the Kaunas University of Medicine for evaluation of scientific works done by students. Society closely collaborates with student organizations at KMU and other institutions of higher education. Student Scientific Society encourages student scientific activities and provides information on ongoing research projects. The Board of Society organizes student scientific conferences at the Kaunas University of Medicine every year and prompts its members to participate in national and international conferences. It's our pleasure to invite you to the International Conference for Medical Students and Young Doctors at the Kaunas University of Medicine, Lithuania. Kaunas University of Medicine is the largest medical research centre in Lithuania. It participates in a number of international projects. Kaunas University of Medicine is a WHO collaborating centre for research and training in epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular and other chronic noncommunicable diseases. Also under its control the medical centres rendering aid to all the population of Lithuania and carrying out a specific research activities, as the centres of neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, traumatology, microsurgery, infectious diseases, pulmonology, endocrinology, surgical management of complicated disturbances of cardiac rhythm and conduction system, and electrical pacing of the heart. The major mission of this Conference is to integrate young researchers at international level in order to improve the Public Health. This International Conference involves nearly all relevant problems of today's medicine at theoretical, clinical and experimental level.
